The Plant as metaphor
From 1974, Huub from his gardeners background and Adelheid as a garden architect decide the Plant will be the metaphor of mankind. The young Seedlings, rising from the dark earth, unfurling and growing towards the light. This most universal and spiritual expression of the deep-rooted desire for growth now have become the reflection of the two great spiritual forces on earth: Eastern and Western thinking. The first directed towards the spiritual, the other addressing material man, though both stemming from the same reality. From 1975 the monumental Plants, flowers, Potted Plants, and floral sources in corten steel are being created. Plants as signs of sprouting power, Potted Plants as metaphors for the cultural involvement of the individual, as signs of freedom in restraint.
