The Circle of Angels brings out the best in people

This conceptual playful artwork was their first cooperation project at Doddendaal Castle. The Circle of Angels was inspired by the idea of Angels and created to appeal to the best instincts of man; be nice, play and communicate in a feast of (polyester) forms, colours, light, sound and possibly scent as well.The dream of this environment travelling around the country, a lighthearted happening which unites people.

The circle comprises 6 monumental Angels, alternating with 6 monumental coloured Angelhearts with in their midst a mansized pentoid of plexiglass. 3 of the Angels have been supplied with microphones at mouth level, the 3 others have 100 Watt loud-speakers put into their stomachs. All 6 are connected with the ground through a moving metal spring. The 6 Hearts (wombs), are supplied with stereo sound and in all 12 elements strong lamps are installed; which are just as the sound,connected synchronically with the pentoid.

Bewaren

At night the Circle of Angels forms a fairy-like, magical and organical spectacle. The illuminated polyester skin glows like the tissue of a translucent leaf. The transparent pentoid can be played by hand or participates in the interaction of the whole group. From everywhere invitations arrive to experience the Circle of Angels and the project travels from festival to festival. A dream comes true.
